Gandhi spins yarn
Gandhi spins his own yarn everyday. And everyday, he accounts to the ashram residents how much he has spun that day. Suresh Soni, the actor who plays Gandhi, is a former outlaw who read Gandhi during his 22-year stint in prison, and was inspired by him. Suresh Soni has become a good friend after we got to know him through another ongoing project where Leela studies the impact that reading Gandhi has on incarcerated persons. Her project has been supported by two Fulbright fellowships and a Guggenheim fellowship.
